I was born and brought up in Lucknow, India and completed my primary education there. I moved to Bangalore to pursue my degree and have been living here since. I've worked with major retail chains across the globe as an analytics and big data consultant. When I'm not making corporates richer, I like to indulge in reading and traveling. I was exposed to literature and poetry, Urdu and English (thanks to my father, and my librarian respectively), at a very young age and it has stayed with me. I am also very passionate about photography, portraiture in specific.
I'm seeking a partner that is well read and traveled, has entrepreneurial skills/ambitions and possess a non-conforming attitude towards general stupidity. I'm very liberal in my views, have an opinion on almost all things under the sun and love a healthy dose of debate; if you share the same enthusiasm around it, nothing could be better. That said, family is a very strong anchor for me and I'd like my significant half to respect that and treat 'our' collective families without drawing any lines of yours and mine. If you've read this so far, I would also suggest you read my answers to questions I've been bugged with at family gatherings by random aunties.
Q. Housewife or working wife?
A. Whatever you prefer. If you want to be a homemaker and find joy in it, then do it by all means. There is no other job as challenging as that of a homemaker. However, if you're ambitious and want to put your education to good use, I will support you in every possible way to chase your dream!
Q. What do you want from your wife's family?
A. Her. Nothing else. I'm a self-made man and whatever comes to me only comes from Him, the creator. If you think I cannot afford the lifestyle you're accustomed to, then I'd suggest not going ahead with this. A one-time pre-payment from your family is not going to last a lifetime.
Q. Women rights and equality?
A. I'm a feminist and women rights are one of my primary causes and all change starts at home. So, as much as I'm a fan of chivalry, I'd love my partner to be strong headed and act as an equal. I'd highly recommend you to read the excerpt from Khalil Gibran's book (The Prophet) to understand my definition of an ideal partner.
Q. What is the most important thing in a relationship?
A. Honesty, respect, and love are the pillars of a relationship. Honesty drives you to be a better person, mutual respect ensures we agree to disagree on topics we don't see eye to eye, and love is the ultimate panacea to the ailing soul. Be who you are, don't give yourself up for anybody. Everyone is trying to paint a rosy picture of themselves, and I'm just sick of it. If you don't know how to cook, don't sweat about it. I don't know how to cook either. We'll take cooking classes together! And if you know how to shake a leg, teach me to tango!
I'm terribly sorry for the excruciating length of this section, but I really want you to pause and ask yourself this question, "Is this the kind of person I'd want to spend a lifetime with?" If the answer to the question is an affirmative, I'd be happy to speak with you at length. Learn about your life and everything that has shaped you into the person you are today.
