We are from a middle class family with moderate values, living in Ernakulam, Kerala. We have three boys. The proposal is for our eldest son . Second son has finished his Engineering and will be joining a software company in Bangalore soon. Youngest is studying in 12th. Father, Mechanical Engineer by profession, is working in a private firm in Dubai and mother is homemaker. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Computer Science from Arizona State University (starting Spring 2019). I graduated from IIT Roorkee in Electrical Engineering in 2013. I worked in the industry for 5 years - first at a startup called Chatimity and later in another startup called Freshworks. I have been recognized as one of the star-performers in all years of my professional career.
I returned back to academia to fill my gaps in knowledge in the areas of Machine Learning and Big Data. My short term goal is to explore research opportunities during my Masters and pursue my Ph.D. thereafter (hopefully from a top college). My long term goal is to enter the industry as a research scientist or to continue my career in academia as a professor. I would wish to settle in the US.
I wasn't taught Muslim religious practices/customs during my childhood. As such I don't offer Namaz, neither do I fast during Ramadan. Each person's spirituality is personal to them. I follow meditation and a few Buddhist teachings as my spiritual practice. I don't expect my partner to share the same spiritual beliefs. To each their own as long as it gives them peace.
I am not an extrovert. That is not to say that I am socially awkward, but rather spending time with myself reenergizes me as compared to interacting with people. As such, I tend to spend time exploring my hobbies during my free time - playing instruments, reading books, watching movies. I keep myself active by lifting weights and exercising regularly and have strict control over my nutrition. I wish to live a long and fit life free of any health-related complications.
I believe in living a simple life. I am not materialistic and don't believe in following the latest fashion or gadgets. The fewer possessions I have the more time I have to pursue things that are meaningful. To some extent, I would expect the same from my partner.
I am not looking for an immediate marriage. My Masters will finish by the end of 2020. So I am expecting an early 2021 wedding (after my Masters, before my Ph.D.). I am hoping to find the right partner in the meantime. If my profile interests you, we can discuss this further.
First, I would like the partner's parents to talk with my parents to gauge their compatibility. If things go well, I would wish to meet and interact with my match in person a few times. Based on our interactions we can decide how to proceed ahead.
